Day 6 is a Sonamarg day trip timed around your departure flight. We depart early to give you 4–5 hours at the glacier before the return drive to Srinagar. Day 1 — Arrival in Srinagar

Your driver meets you at Sheikh ul-Alam International Airport with a name placard. Transfer to your houseboat on Dal Lake — the classic first Kashmir experience. Once settled, the afternoon begins with the Mughal Gardens: Nishat Bagh (built 1633, 12 terraced levels) and Shalimar Bagh (commissioned by Emperor Jahangir). Day 2 — Srinagar City

The second Srinagar day is for the parts of the city most itineraries skip. Hazratbal Shrine — the only domed mosque in Kashmir, set right on the northwestern shore of Dal Lake, holding a relic of the Prophet that draws enormous pilgrimages. Shankaracharya Temple, perched at 1,100 feet on the Zabarwan hillside with the most complete panoramic view of the Dal Lake basin you'll find. Old Srinagar's wooden mosques, spice lanes, and bakeries. Polo View Market for pashmina shawls, saffron, and walnut wood carvings. This is the Srinagar most day-trippers never reach.

Day 3 — Gulmarg Excursion

50 km from Srinagar, Gulmarg sits at 2,650 metres — the approach road alone is worth the trip, winding through apple orchards and pine forest before breaking into the open bowl of the meadow. The Gondola cable car (world's highest operating gondola) runs in two phases: Phase 1 to Kongdoori at 3,080 metres, Phase 2 to Apharwat Peak at 3,980 metres. Day 4 — Drive to Pahalgam

The drive to Pahalgam via Pampore passes through Kashmir's saffron belt — the only place in India where Kashmiri saffron is grown, and October through November you see the purple fields in bloom. The Avantipura ruins (9th-century temple complex on the Jhelum bank) are a quick roadside stop that most drivers skip but shouldn't. Pahalgam check-in, then the afternoon for the Lidder River valley — the river runs cold and clear right through the town, and an evening walk along its banks is the easiest introduction to why this place is called the Valley of Shepherds. Day 5 — Pahalgam Valleys

Day 6 — Sonamarg Day Trip & Departure

The return leg to Srinagar detours through Sonamarg — 87 km from Pahalgam, along a drive that follows the Sindh River through dense birch and pine before the valley opens into the meadow. The walk takes 1–2 hours each way through alpine meadows. Snow activities and sledging are available even in July.
