Kashmir Great Lakes Trek
Day 1 - KGL Begins
• Pickup from Srinagar airport and transfer to Sonamarg,
also called the "Meadow of Gold."
• Explore Sindh River, lush meadows, and glaciers in the backdrop.
• Overnight stay in Sonamarg.
Day 2 - Sonamarg – Nichnai (11 km)
• Trek begins from Shitkadi, gradually moving through pine forests,
wildflower meadows, and alpine streams.
• Cross Nichnai Pass (3,500 m) to reach the campsite.
• First taste of high-altitude camping.
Day 3 - Nichnai - Vishansar Lake 12km
• Trek to Vishansar Lake, a crystal-blue alpine gem at 3,710 m.
• Lake holds religious importance for locals and is
surrounded by lush green pastures.
• Camp near Vishansar, with panoramic mountain views.
Day 4 - Krishansar – Gadsar Pass 14km
• Visit Krishansar Lake, often shimmering turquoise under sunlight.
• Ascend Gadsar Pass (4,200 m) – the highest point of the trek.
• Descend to reach Gadsar Lake, nicknamed the “Lake of Flowers.”
• Overnight camping near the lake.
Day 5 - Gadsar – Satsar Lakes 12km
• Trek through wildflower-filled meadows and mountain ridges.
• Reach Satsar, a group of seven interconnected alpine lakes.
• Pitch tents near one of the lakes.
Day 6 - Gangbal & Nundkol Lakes 9km
• A scenic climb to Zaj Pass (4,050 m) followed by descent to the twin lakes – Gangbal & Nundkol.
• Both lakes lie at the base of Mount Harmukh, revered in Kashmiri tradition.
• Perfect place for reflection and photography.
Day 7 - Gangbal – Naranag 13km
• Descend through pine forests and streams to Naranag village.
• Visit ancient Naranag temple ruins (8th century), once a center of Hindu spirituality.
• Drive back to Srinagar. Overnight in houseboat/hotel.
Day 8 - Departure from Srinagar

• Free morning for shopping or local sightseeing.
• Transfer to Srinagar Airport for departure.
