Yes. Gulmarg has a well-developed nursery slope area at the base with gentle gradients ideal for complete beginners. The ski instructors here are experienced with first-time learners and most beginners progress to controlled parallel turns within 3 to 4 days of instruction. Our 6-night package gives enough time to go from complete beginner to independently skiing the Kongdori blue runs.
What is the best time for skiing in Gulmarg?
January to mid-February offers the best powder snow conditions and the deepest base. December is good for early season with fresh snow. Early March can still have good conditions depending on snowfall. The ski season is typically late November to early March.
What skiing equipment is available in Gulmarg?
Ski equipment — skis, boots, poles, and helmets — is available for hire in Gulmarg and is included in our package. Ski jackets and thermal layers are available to hire locally but quality varies — we recommend bringing your own warm base layers, waterproof outer jacket, gloves, and goggles.
Do I need prior skiing experience for this package?
No. This package is designed for beginners with no prior skiing experience. The itinerary starts from the fundamentals on the nursery slope and progresses progressively over 5 ski days. How do I get to Gulmarg for the skiing package?
Fly to Srinagar Airport. Our driver meets you at arrivals and drives you to Gulmarg (approximately 1.5 hours, 50 km). In deep winter when the road above Tangmarg is snowbound, the final section to Gulmarg uses chain taxis — our driver coordinates this transfer. Airport pickup is included in the package.
